Benjamin Krain-Photojournalist

This is the personal website for a photojournalist named Benjamin Krain. The site is set up in an eye-pleasing fashion with user friendly controls. All of his information and photographs are located on one page with a user-controlled slide-show. According to information listed on the page, Krain has been a photographer for over a decade, and has won numerous awards. His photography is breath-taking, and you can see clearly how his experience and skill have enabled him to capture photographs that not only tell a story, but do so in the thousand words as they should.

The photography in Krain's online portfolio include pictures taken of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Though we have all seen pictures online and on the news, these photographs are clean and crisp, taken in high quality that display the ruins of New Orleans in a light that the local news could in no way capture. The photographs taken of the reconstruction of Afgahnistan also take an event and shine a new light, or angle, onto the situation. Krain's photography forces us to open our eyes to the reality of what has truly happened and is happening in a place most of us can barely point out on a map, yet it has changed our country's history dramatically.

This website is worth a few moments of one's time to look over and give their own personal rating. Though it comes highly reccommended from many sources, including this review.

Free Sample Forager

Free Sample Forager is a website that does exactly what it advertises, which is often rare for any website that uses the word FREE anywhere within its pages. The slogan is "no strings, just great free stuff" is genuine and exactly what this website offers.

The home page is comparable to a blog, with the center column updated with a new entry each time a free sample is added to the list. Each sample added states what the sample is for, and a link to the website in which you may visit to request the sample. If there are any requirements to receive the sample, such as joining the website that is offering that sample, you will find them listed with each sample entry on the page. Sometimes samples are only available in specific countries, which is marked by a small icon with the flag of that country.

Generally free samples are added as soon as they come available on the company's website. However sometimes by the time that the sample is added to the Free Sample Forager list, samples may have run out, or the company has come across a glitch. In this case, you may simple report a dead link. For samples in which a person has had a problem with, you will see that it reads "flagged" and you can choose whether you want to attempt requesting that sample or not.

If you are new to the website, and wish to find various types of samples, or go back and request some of the older ones, you may do so by browsing through the sections clearly marked at the top of the page, or by using the search feature located further down the page on the left hand side.

Another great feature of this website is that updates are available through RSS feeds. This allows for you to stay updated without having to check back onto the website daily for new additions. Several web-based feeders such as Google, My Yahoo, and Blog Lines are featured for easy subscriptions. However for those using a program such as Thunderbird, subscribing is a relatively simple procedure. Right click on the RSS icon and select Copy Link Location. Then you paste that link where needed when adding the new subscription.

Please note that this site does not actually give out freebies. It is simply a online resource to a variety of websites that are offering samples. Remember that these are just that, samples. When requesting something such as a fragrance, remember, often you will receive only a small card with a peeling label that opens to a small perfumed piece of cloth. Some samples are larger, for an example a sample for a brand of toilet paper consisted of an actual complete roll of toilet paper sent to those who requested it. Samples can also take weeks, or longer, to arrive. This website cannot be held accountable for the delay or mishaps that the company sending the samples may come across. In all actuality, these are freebies, so one must not complain. You are not out anything if something never arrives. But for those addicted to finding neat little samples in the mail, this is the site for you. After all you may never know when you have a guest or personal need for something such as a small supply of deodorant, toothpaste, or tampons and all you need to do is open your little sample collection and *poof* your immediate needs are satisfied long enough to make it to the store.

Work At Home Mafia

Work At Home Mafia

The Work At Home Mafia is a forum/website that is geared towards giving the stay at home parent a resource for online income earning possibilities. The internet is full of scams, shams, and plain out lies, and it can be discouraging for a person who is trying to find a legitimate online employment opportunity.

The website is set up as a forum or message board. This allows for posting by users who have suggestions or questions about each opportunity posted. The board is divided into easy to follow sections. For a person looking for a specific field of jobs, this creates a very user friendly atmosphere.

Jobs listed on this site vary widely, and include opportunities for writers, artists, those with specific professional experience, as well as opportunities to the average person. Some jobs require set hours, some require work using the telephone, while others are simply freelance opportunities. For those looking for work considered a little more naughty, this site even has a section for phone sex operators and other online work.

Each job posted clearly lists the qualifications and requirements. If you have any questions or comments about the opportunity, you may post in the message board format about the website. Often those who are hired or turned away from a position will post a reply and it can help you make a decision on if this position is something you feel worth venturing forth in.

Other forms of online earnings such as sites that pay you to read emails or take surveys are also listed in an easy to locate format. Other resources are featured as well to make this the one-stop-shop for the online employee. Everything you could need is all wrapped up into one site, and kept up to date by a wonderful administrator.

Though this is a site full of business opportunities, there are also sections for more personal discussions, allowing users to gain familiarity with each other. Not only is this website a perfect selection of classifieds, it is also a miniature social network consisting of people much like you. You can feel comfortable asking questions about anything from tax preparation to prayer requests.

It is in my opinion that this is by far the best online resource for any person looking for online income. It is a wonderful atmosphere with a friendly posting environment that any person can find a little niche in.
